This was the first of nine events being organised by four British students: Chris Millard, Beth Fenner, Robin Abbot and Kim Hill. The Broad Appeal
Supporting Motor Neurone Disease
During the Ashes 2013/14 Tour we decided to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease in association with The Broad Appeal. We wanted to support Stuart Broad not only on the pitch but also in raising funds for the charity he, along with his father and sister set up in the memory of his step mum, Miche. Miche Broad sadly lost her life to Motor Neurone Disease in 2010.  Chris, Gemma and Stuart have been overwhelmed with the generosity shown by the Barmy Army and wish to pass on their sincere thanks to, in their words, 'the best supporters in the world!'  We will be continuing to support the Broad Appeal in raising awareness of MND at future events, which we will publicise on Facebook and Twitter.  The Broad Appeal website

Unsporting? You're Barmy
Continuing the good work
The Barmy Army have raised money for Leukaemia Research, Help for Heroes, Sri Lanka tsunami, the Pakistan earthquake, Soweto Township, Walmer Township, Teenage Cancer Care, Chance to Shine, Hampton village, Durban AIDS orphanages, the Bali bombings, Chris Cairns Cancer Appeal, The Ben Hollioake Fund and Their Future Today.
Most grounds now set aside areas especially for Barmy Army fans apart from Lord's.

Jerusalem Hymn – A Favourite Barmy Army Opener Song
“And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountain green? And was the holy Lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures seen? And did the countenance divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills? And was Jerusalem builded here  Among those dark satanic mills? Bring me my bow of burning gold! Bring me my arrows of desire! Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold! Bring me my chariot of fire!  I will not cease from mental fight

Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand, Till we have built Jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land.”
