Rain Africa

The human touch is visible in all Rain products and that is what makes them precious

Handmade means hope – it means work opportunities, skills training and income for the poor and a better quality of life. So at Rain at the Rain Swellendam factory, they hand mould, stitch, weave, pour, cut, wrap, knit, cover and fill all by hand!

Caring human touch is visible in all Rain products and that is what makes them precious

Rain has an extensive range of products that have grown over the years. From bathroom accessories, gift sets, liquid soaps and foam baths, bath mats, bath salts and fizz balls, body creams and butters, fragranced soaps, slippers and gowns, and blankets. They even have a ‘Baby’ range of products!

With eight South African branches, two of which are in Johannesburg and two in Cape Town and Rain stores in New York and Amsterdam Bev Missing founder of Rain who has a heart of gold has made her mark in the world of natural beauty products. From a business which started in Bev's garage to having an International presence one can only envy and admire Bev's achievement and the great contribution she makes to sustainable employment.

With descriptive names such as ‘moon under water’ and ‘saffron tangerine’ for foam baths which are liquid gold to bath salts, guest soaps, soap slices, oils, essences, bases and scrubs and the Rain ‘Africa wellness range’ there is absolutely no excuse not to pamper your inner and outer beauty.

Wild harvested organic African oils of Kalahari Melon, Baobab, Mafura, Marula and Mongongo Nut form the heart of their body care range. For centuries, African tribal healers have been using medicinal plants from Africa’s indigenous flora. They relied exclusively on these plants for healing and skin protection in an often severe climate.

Rain has incorporated these oils into their products for their various properties and skin benefits as well as for the jobs they create. Local people roam the veld gathering the fruits and seeds from these wild growing trees, which are then pressed for oils. Harvesting is carried out with extreme sensitivity to the impact on the environment and with full adherence to Fair Trade principles.

So in a nutshell brand Rain products are natural and naturally derived with some organic ingredients, top quality, beautifully presented and exceptional service within the Rain stores. Accredited by Beauty Without Cruelty

The brand Rain and Bev Missing score a ten out of ten!
