FRANSCHHOEK VALLEY MAKES A FINE BACKDROP FOR THE WORK OF ARTIST MARIEKE PRINSLOO

“There is ever the desire to communicate and be understood - to be relevant, hopeful and truthful - a meaningful part of the fiercely determined South African Art movement.” M. Prinsloo-Rowe

Email Marieke Prinsloo-Rowe: marieke@mariekeprinsloo-rowe.com

"The primary focus and preoccupation of Marieke Prinsloo-Rowe's work is and has been an exploration of the female form.  She is intrigued by the way in which sculpture mimics the three-dimensionality of a human prescence and thus the slightly surreal dialogue it invites - human to human look-alike.  She also loves the capacity that sculpture has to freeze the transient into sculpted reality keeping it 'alive' long after moments and persons have changed.  Prinsloo-Rowe has completed numerous private and public sites, private collections and galleries."

Art Sale & Exhibition

Coldplay's Worldwide No.1 Album Ghost Stories Art Exhibition
In Aid Of Kids Company

17 Osborn St, Shoreditch, London
4 - 7 December 2014

"Sometimes a piece of art looks exactly like you think your song sounds
On Ghost Stories, Mila somehow managed this time and time again
Her etchings showed exactly what we were trying to say" ~ Chris Martin

Coldplay and Mila Fürstová are very proud and excited about the Ghost Stories exhibition in aid of Kids Company, staged by Album Artists.  Album Artists makes art for musicians and provides fans with original and limited edition artwork by their favourite stars.

The exhibition includes the original etchings that became the now iconic art for the Coldplay ‘Ghost Stories’ album, as well as never before seen drawings and other interesting materials that Coldplay and Mila used in the album art development.

The exhibition was opened with a private view with the band Coldplay in attendance on 3rd December and is now open to the public 4 December to 7 December 2014.

Open hours (free entry): Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 am - 8:00 pm

The works that are on exhibition and were for sale have sadly all been sold, which is not surprising.  There will be thousands of disappointed Coldplay fans now that the original and limited edition artworks were snapped up!  Mila signed our Ghost Stories records and we are giving them away to people who buy prints Mila signed our Ghost Stories records and we are giving them away to people who buy prints.  Many fans and lovers of art opened their hearts and wallets to own a piece of Coldplay history and support Kids!  What a successful and wonderful initiative!  Not only a ‘Sky Full of Stars’ but an Art Exhibition facilitated by Stars!
